F is for Fashion Blogs and Farewells

Fashion Blogs
Don't worry. I am NOT creating a fashion blog nor do I ever intend to create one. But, I did come across a fashion blog that I would love to share. I'm apologizing in advance to anyone who follows this link. You may or may not waste a good hour or more of your life perusing this website. I promise you won't regret it!

Farewells
The big announcement was finally made that the ward is splitting. Soo, this past Sunday was most likely my last Sunday as a member of the Simpsonville 1st Ward. (Not just because of the fact that I won't be home for the next month then moving to AZ.) It's really a sad thing. I grew up with these amazing people. I was molded and influenced by these incredible people. I've made so many unforgettable memories with these special people. I hate to get all sappy, but if there were ever such a thing as the best ward on earth, Simpsonville 1st would be the front runner. It's been a privileged to be a part of the ward and I'm gonna miss it tons! But here's to change and new friendships.

On a completely unrelated note, listen up. Enjoy. And have a wonderful week.

E is for Elder Fogle

The letter E.
E stands for lots of things,
but today it stands for Elder Fogle!

My little brother, formerly known as Kyle, is now Elder Fogle! The day finally came and I still don't think it has really hit me that he is gone. But anyways, here's a little run down of the whole shebang through a few pictures.

Kyle receives his mission call to Salt Lake City.
Kyles farewell parrttaayyy! And I mean parrttaayyy!
There were probably 100+ people there.

Fogle Family Foto one last time before May 2014!

We got an email from him earlier this week. He is doing really well. Loving the MTC, learning lots and meeting great people! "My district is AMAZING! We are all brothers now it feels like, and its pretty cool, since I've never had a brother, now I do!!!" I really liked that. If you would like to write him...

MTC Address:
Elder Kyle Fogle
MTC Mailbox #167
UT-SLC 0613
2005 N 900 E
Provo, UT 84604

Mission Field Address:
Elder Kyle Fogle
Utah Salt Lake City Mission
3487 South 1300 East
Salt Lake City, UT 84106

The people of Salt Lake are blessed to have Kyle for the next two years. He has been an amazing example to me my whole life, but especially these past few months. I know that he is ready to be a missionary. He's gonna be an exceptionally extraordinary elder! I couldn't be prouder and more impressed with him!

Until next time...take it EEEEZ. :)

D is for Denny's

And I'll tell you why...

Since the beginning of February I've been working at Denny's Corporate Headquarters in the Marketing Department. Who knew Denny's was headquartered in South Carolina? I bet you didn't! It has been such a great experience! I've learned more in the past couple of months then I learned in my 4 years of college. Seriously. Ok, so some really exciting things have happened since I started working at Denny's. And I'm here to tell you about them...

The Denny's Tower houses the United Way of Piedmont on one of it's floors so one week every year Denny's and the United Way team up to raise money. A couple of Fridays ago we had a Tour Day and got to visit 4 agencies around Spartanburg that the United Way helps fund. It was a real eye opener. One, to see first hand that there are real problems and real people in need in our community. Two, there are lots of non-profit agencies helping our community become a better place! I really enjoyed all the visits.
We played Jenga at one agency. Each block had something good or bad written on it.
We had to take out the bad blocks. Mine was alcohol.

Mid-April my aunt and I ran in a 5k to support the American Heart Association. It wasn't timed or anything. It was purely to raise money for the association. Denny's sponsored me.
I sported this Denny's tee whilst running my 5k.

And for the grand finale of pictures! Hello, San Diego! Two weeks ago I was arriving in San Diego for a business trip.  It was a great experience. San Diego is beautiful and I'm really grateful that I got to go! (Although I had to skip the Braves game back home.)
The Gaslamp Quarter in downtown San Diego.
Petco Park. Home of the San Diego Padres. View from the roof of our hotel.
The view from my hotel room window.

Well, that's all folks.

What are you waiting for? Go get yourself a Grand Slam at your nearest Denny's!

C is for Countdowns

These days my life thrives on countdowns. I have so much to look forward to over the next couple of months! So here it goes. I'll share with you my many countdowns...

8 days until...My best friend Whitney Lucas gets married to my good friend Jordan Garrett! I cannot believe how fast this day has come! I'm proud of them and grateful that they are setting a good example for me and for many others. Congrats Whitney and Jordan!

15 days until...I go to my first Atlanta Braves baseball game. It's sad that I'm 21 and I've never been to one since they're so popular down here. As my good friend Bryce Rojas once said, "Stay loyal to your soil."

39 days until...My little brother leaves for his mission. He will be serving in the Salt Lake City Utah mission for 2 years. It will be sad to say goodbye, but we will make the best of the 39 days we still have together! Also, if Kyle goes to General Conference and his family also goes to General Conference he is allowed to visit with them briefly. Guess who's going to General Conference!?

71 days until...I see Lady Antebellum in concert!! I absolutely love their new album and I can't wait to see them! So stoked.

72 days until...I go to Georgia/Virginia to be an EFY Counselor. This is something I've been wanting to do ever since I was a young EFY participant. I can't wait to meet all kinds of new people and be a positive influence in the lives of the youth. Also, I'm crossing my fingers that I'll get to be Clark Gustafson's EFY counselor. (My good friend's younger brother.)

110 days until...I move to ARIZONA! Can I just say that I absolutely CANNOT wait until this day comes. I am so excited that I can hardly stand it. So come August, I'll be a resident of Tempe, AZ. If any of you have any connections or contacts of anyone that works in marketing in the Phoenix area, please let me know! :)

So that's my life in a nutshell. Please enjoy this song as you continue to browse the web...

B is for Blessings, Bernie and Babysitting.

I feel like this week has been the longest week of my life. Ok. So that's a serious exaggeration but usually my weeks go by faster than this one.

However, things began to look up whenever I got in my car this morning to go to work and discovered that my gas tank was completely FULL! That's right. Some kind, loving soul in my family filled it up for me. How nice is that?! I later found out that it was my little brother, Kyle. This automatically made my day 100% better. Thanks Kyle!

Speaking of Kyle, since we have been home from school, Kyle and I were introduced to this song, "Movin' like Bernie." Kyle LOVES it. He is always movin' like Bernie.

I encourage you all to move it like Bernie...

And if you're wondering where in the world this came from...

And if you're skeptical of the popularity of the Bernie...

Time to babysit now so I'm outta here. But seriously, I know y'all want to get up and try the Bernie. Just do it.

A is for ALARM

Alarm clock. This morning my alarm clock went off at 7:15. I have to leave for work at 7:50. Why would I set my alarm so late and only give myself 35 minutes to get ready for work, you ask? Let me fill you in. My parents flew home from the lovely Rexburg, Idaho yesterday after attending Bekka's graduation from BYU-Idaho. Their flight got cancelled from Dallas to Greenville and ended up flying into the Charlotte airport. And yours truly got to go pick them up...at midnight. Mind you, my bedtime is 10pm and Charlotte is 1.5 hours away from Greenville causing us to get home at 2 in the morning. This is why I allowed myself to sleep in as long as humanly possible this morning. But this series of unfortunate events turned out to be an awesome adventure. Wanna know why? Because I got to see some of my best friends from college, Katie and Ashley Gustafson, who live in Charlotte. Not to mention their sweet parents and little brother Clark! Kyle and I got to spend about 2 hours at their house before we went to the airport to pick up my parents. It was great to see them one more time and catch up before they head back out to school for spring semester!

Moral of the story: When life gives you lemons...make lemonade, but only if it's pink.
